DOUGLAS C. DESCHENES is one of the shareholders of Deschenes & Farrell, P.C. He lives in Westford, Massachusetts with his wife and two children. Mr. Deschenes was born and raised in Tyngsboro. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Biology from University of Maine at Orono, a Masters Degree in Business Administration from New Hampshire College and a Juris Doctor from the Northeastern University School of Law. He joined Hall & Finnegan in 1997, having previously been a Vice President and Counsel for State Street Bank and Trust Company. He primarily focuses his practice in Zoning, Land Use and Development Law; including Environmental, Wetland and Rivers protection issues. Additionally, he practices in the areas of Real Estate Conveyancing and Business Law. Mr. Deschenes was formerly a member and Chairman of Westford Conservation Commission, Master Plan Implementation Committee, Westford Affordable Housing Committee and Westford Water Commission. He was the Co-Founder of the Westford Land Preservation Foundation (non-profit land preservation group).
KATHRYN LORAH FARRELL is one of the shareholders of Deschenes & Farrell, P.C. She graduated in 1989 from Alfred University with a BA in Criminal Justice and Political Science. She then worked as the Personnel Manager for a security company in Brookline, Massachusetts. In 1994, she graduated from the New England School of Law and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in the same year. Ms. Farrell practiced law in Lexington, Massachusetts in the areas of real estate, family law, estate planning and general civil litigation. In 2006, she joined Hall, Finnegan & Deschenes and then became a shareholder in Deschenes & Farrell, P.C. Her areas of practice are Real Estate Conveyancing, including representation of Buyers, Sellers and Lenders, Estate Planning and Probate. Ms. Farrell is an agent for Old Republic Title Insurance Company, Chicago Title Insurance Company, Lawyers Title Insurance Company, and Commonwealth Title Insurance Company. She is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the Women's Bar Association. Ms. Farrell grew up in Concord, Massachusetts and now lives in Harvard, Massachusetts with her husband and son. Ms. Farrell is active in the Harvard community as a member of the Parent Teacher Association, the Community Calendar Committee and the Fourth of July Committee. She formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Women's Bar Association, and served as a Trustee of the Women's Bar Foundation. Ms. Farrell has been a Mock Trial Judge for Lexington High School, volunteered on the WBA's Elder Law Panel and co-chaired the WBA's Pro Bono Committee.
MELISSA E. ROBBINS, formerly Melissa E. Oakes-Cook, is one of the shareholders of Deschenes & Farrell, P.C. She is married and has lived in Westford since 1979. She graduated in 2001 from Clark University with a BA in Government and a concentration in Pre-Law. In 2004, she graduated from the New England School of Law and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in the same year. Ms. Robbins associated with Hall, Finnegan & Deschenes in 2004 practicing in the areas of Land Use, Development, and Zoning as well as Collections. Ms. Robbins drafts Zoning Opinions and regulatory documents including Deed Riders and Monitoring Agreements. Ms. Robbins works with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on post comprehensive permitting and final approval of 40B projects. Ms. Robbins is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association. Ms. Robbins' pro bono work includes permitting and other issues for the Westford Council on Aging.
